Emory Crew’s annual Row-A-Thon fundraiser is back! Emory Crew is a student-run club rowing team founded in 1990 at Emory University. Our team members commit hundreds of hours every semester to train for competitions and regattas all over the Southeast, along with our rigorous academic course loads. Proper equipment and a knowledgeable team of coaching staff is required for our team to be competitive at races and to reach the full potential of all our hard work.

WHY: The Row-A-Thon is our biggest fundraiser of the year and extremely important to ensuring that we have the necessary equipment for both training and racing, and that our wonderful coaches are properly compensated. As we approach our spring racing season, we are in greater need than ever. Our hope is to purchase a 4+ shell, as the majority of our boats have been with us for 10+ years and are showing signs of wear and tear. Additionally, we currently own only three 4+ boats. Due to our growing team, this means our novice team is unable to practice in a dedicated 4+. Lastly, the new shell has the added benefit of versatility – it would be rowable as both a quad 4x (sculling) and a 4+ (sweeping)!

THE EVENT: On February 24th, we will row 50 meters for every dollar donated to Emory Crew.  This year, we are aiming to raise $10,000 and collectively row 500,000 meters! We will be livestreaming the event for supporters to cheer on our team members as they erg and complete various challenges.

We greatly appreciate any donation you are able to make to the team, as anything you can give counts. Just like small improvements in rowing technique, small donations make a huge difference when the time comes for racing.
