Tara began rowing in 2003 for Space Coast Crew in Florida her freshman year of high school. After graduating in 2007, she decided to attend Emory University to pursue a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. Tara rowed for Emory University from 2008 through 2011. Her notable accomplishments include a 2nd place finish in the Freshman 4+ Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Regatta in 2008, and a 2nd place finish in the 2011 DIII/Clubs Collegiate 8+ at the Dad Vail Regatta. Her most memorable achievement was claiming a 1st place victory in the Women’s Collegiate 4+ at Head of the Charles Regatta in 2010. Tara currently works in the Oncology department as an RN for Emory Healthcare. In her spare time, she enjoys coaching, rowing in a single and spending time outdoors.
Tara is excited to be able to give back to Emory Crew after having spent a number of years as a varsity member. She states that, “Not only has Emory Crew provided me with a strong desire to win and a sense of accomplishment in both academics and athletics, but rowing has also become a lifelong outlet from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I hope to share with this year’s novice women the passion I have for this sport. I also hope to instill in them the hard work ethic which goes hand-in-hand with victory.”
