Coach Micah Boyd began rowing at the Minnesota Boat Club in 1998. He attended the University of Wisconsin, serving as team captain for one year. A two time USA National Team member Micah’s first appearance was his senior year at University of Wisconsin. Micah also rowed at Penn AC in Philly and was in the USA Men’s Eight that placed third in the 2008 Olympic Games.

Before coaching at Emory Micah served as the Freshman Assistant Coach at University of Wisconsin in 2005 and coached club rowers at Minnesota Boat Club. Micah joined the Emory coaching staff in 2009 as the novice women’s coach. This year Micah is in his first year as the Varsity Women’s Coach.

Here are a few words from Coach Micah about why he chose to come back to coach at Emory:

“This is my second time coaching at Emory and the main reason I came back was because of the dedication the students have towards the sport. It is a student operated program and that means I coach women who are truly invested in rowing and want to come to practice. I have been involved with every level of rowing from juniors to masters, beginners to elite oarsman and women, and working at Emory has been the more rewarding programs to be a part of.”
